For example, in the process of spinning, weaving, printing and dyeing, the fibers and yarns of the fabric are subjected to a series of mechanical stretching and pressing effects, resulting in deformation. Once washed with water, the fibers and yarns are subjected to moisture and heat. The deformed part will quickly recover, so it shrinks.

How to restore clothes that have shrunk

Bubble with baby shampoo

Baby shampoo loosens the fibers in shrunk clothes, allowing them to stretch more easily, thereby restoring shrunk clothes to their original shape. Generally speaking, in addition to satin fabrics, other materials can be used.

Fill the basin with warm water, put some baby shampoo, stir well, immerse the shrunk clothes in the water, soak for about 5 minutes, take out the clothes, squeeze out the water, and then lay them flat on a dry towel;

Next, take a long enough towel, wrap the clothes in the towel and roll it up, open the towel after a few minutes, take out the clothes, stretch to the right size, and dry as normal. Be careful not to stretch the clothes too much and cause deformation.

Use vinegar or borax

This method can be used for wool and cashmere clothing. Add 500 ml of white vinegar per liter of water. After mixing evenly, soak the wool clothes in water for at least 25 minutes. If the clothes have shrunk seriously, you can stretch them a few times while soaking;

Then take out the soaked clothes and wring out the water, also lay the clothes on the towel, roll it into a ball, wring it out, let the towel roll the clothes around for about 10 minutes, take out the clothes, and lay them flat to dry. In the case of borax, the ratio of water to borax is 2:1

Iron with steam

The shrunk clothes are heated with a steam iron, and then the fibers can be lengthened with both hands while they are still hot. Generally speaking, the heating area of ​​the steam iron is limited, and the fiber cannot be stretched a lot at one time, and it needs to be heated and stretched repeatedly. After pulling it all out, use a ruler to measure the total length. If the length is not enough, you can repeat the pulling several times. Be careful not to pull the size too far, and finally adjust it appropriately.

Or put the clothes on a large cardboard to spread them, and then iron them with an iron, and the clothes can be restored to their original shape.

Take it directly to the dry cleaner
